March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and Arizona Oncology is a proud, 3-time sponsor of the Cologuard Classic, where golf’s greatest champions compete for a greater cause!
Radiation Oncologist Dr. Sarah Kilic was in attendance talking with News 4 Tucson Live about the importance of colon cancer screening. Colonoscopies are not the only screening option. At-home, non-invasive screening tests like Cologuard are an option for some. Talk to your doctor.
Jay Canchola, colorectal cancer survivor, talked about his journey and how Cologuard and his care team at Arizona Oncology may have saved his life–his cancer was caught early due to screening. Another AO patient, Stephen Anderson, took part in opening ceremonies.
The Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences at La Paloma Country Club features a 78-player field of PGA TOUR Champions competing for a $2.2 million purse with $330,000 and 330,000 Charles Schwab Cup points going to the winner. Golf’s greatest players participate in three days of competition (Friday – Sunday), plus exciting Pro-Am events on Wednesday and Thursday, with all tournament proceeds supporting colon cancer awareness and Tucson youth sports.
