Biography
Neil D’Souza, MD, received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine after completing the Rice University – Baylor College of Medicine Medical Scholar combined BA/MD program. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before completing his residency in radiation oncology at UT Health San Antonio – MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. D’Souza has a special interest in treating breast, prostate, bladder, lung, head and neck, brain, skin, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic cancers, as well as lymphomas. He also works with palliative therapy for all forms of cancer. He specializes in stereotactic radiosurgery, fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy, intracranially stereotactic body radiation therapy for primary and metastatic disease, and gynecologic brachytherapy.
Dr. D’Souza is an active member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the Radiologic Society of North America, and the Catholic Medical Association.
Philosophy
Dr. D’Souza believes in personalized, integrated cancer care that is compassionate and comfortable for the patient. He aims to offer every patient the same up-to-date and holistic care he would want his family members to receive. He believes in empowering the patient by educating them as much as possible on their diagnosis and treatment options.
Personal
Outside of medicine, Dr. D’Souza is a commissioned figurative and portrait oil painter who has exhibited in juried group exhibitions both locally and nationally. He enjoys playing basketball and tennis, as well as weightlifting. He is passionate about engaging with his Catholic faith. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new cuisines with friends and traveling with his parents and little brother.
