BIOGRAPHY

Rachael joined Arizona Oncology in 2013 after relocating from Phoenix. Rachael received her BSN and MSN at the University of Pittsburgh in their acute care oncology NP program. She has been an oncology nurse practitioner for more than 10 years, caring for patients with various cancers and blood disorders. Rachael has developed a Cancer Risk Assessment, Screening, and Prevention Program (CRASPP) with a focused effort on identifying patients at heightened risk for developing cancer through performing a comprehensive risk evaluation, genetic counseling and testing, and coordinating appropriate screening and risk reduction strategies. Rachael has extensive oncology research experience as a graduate research assistant on several research projects in palliative care, symptom management, and racial disparities in metastatic breast cancer. She is a sub-investigator on our breast cancer clinical trials.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with cancer and their families. I feel that providing the best care should incorporate evidence-based treatments and opportunities to participate in research and clinical trials.  I am passionate about cancer prevention and aim to assess family history, genetic risk, and other personal risk factors for individuals who may be at increased risk for cancer and to provide them with enhanced screenings and risk reduction opportunities.

PERSONAL

Outside of work, Rachael enjoys spending time with her husband and four young children. She is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. You’re also likely to find her gardening, crafting, or working on interior design and home renovation projects.
