Arizona Oncology’s Pamela Miel, M.D. Inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians

 

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (April 19, 2012) Pamela Miel, MD, FACP, medical oncologist at Arizona Oncology, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the national organization of internists. This distinction recognizes professional accomplishments, demonstrated scholarship and superior competence in internal medicine.

 Dr. Miel was inducted today during Internal Medicine 2012, the ACP annual scientific meeting, in New Orleans, La. She was elected an ACP Fellow upon the recommendation of peers and the review of ACP’s Credentials Subcommittee. As an ACP Fellow, Dr. Miel is now eligible to vote and hold office in the ACP and sponsor candidates for fellowship.

 Dr. Miel provides advanced and comprehensive cancer care to patients treated at Arizona Oncology, an affiliate of The US Oncology Network. This collaborationgives her patients access to the latest treatments, in-house laboratory services and chemotherapy, a staff pharmacist, and state-of-the-art technology. Her patients also have the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge nationwide research and clinical trials through US Oncology Research.

Dr. Miel is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians. Currently, she serves as president-elect of The Arizona Clinical Oncology Society. Dr. Miel has had articles published in Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy and Clinical Lymphoma, Myeloma & Leukemia. Dr. Miel received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Ill. followed by a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
