Arizona Oncology Opens Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Center in Phoenix!

PHOENIX—Cancer patients typically have a number of medical appointments including consults with medical, gynecologic and radiation oncologists, lab services, diagnostic testing—the list can seem endless. Arizona Oncology patients now have a more convenient option at the new Biltmore office, located at the Biltmore Medical Mall, 2222 E. Highland Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix. This approximately 35,000 square-foot multidisciplinary cancer care center provides patients with comprehensive and integrated cancer care, including targeted therapy treatments and state-of-the-art technologies.

The new center provides medical and gynecologic oncology services in the same location as Arizona Oncology’s existing radiation oncology office. In addition, support services are available including a patient resource center and in-house diagnostics. Nutritional counselors and social workers, as well as a statewide laboratory, will be added later this spring. Patients also have the benefit of value-added services such as nurse navigators who help guide patients through their treatment and connect them with community resources; and financial specialists who can answer questions about the costs of treatment, handle insurance issues and possibly identify assistance programs to cover costs not covered by insurance. Having these services in one location allows Arizona Oncology to better coordinate patients’ care, helping to streamline the system in a way that is most convenient to them. In turn, the multidisciplinary team can more effectively collaborate to generate the most effective patient treatment plans.

“This new facility further demonstrates our strong commitment to the community and enhances our ability to provide advanced and comprehensive cancer care in one, convenient location,” said Michael Roberts, M.D., practice president, Phoenix Division of Arizona Oncology. “For people with cancer, this is important because it allows them to remain close to home and to their support networks of family and friends.”
