Lymph nodes (also called lymph glands) are an important are part of your immune system. If your lymph nodes become enlarged or feel sensitive to the touch, that is their way of letting you know that your body is fighting an infection. In addition to that, they function as an early warning system for some types of cancer, including lymphoma, leukemia, and breast cancer.
Dr. Modiano treated me for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2000, I came to Arizona Oncology from Nevada in stage 3. My future was not too bright and chemo was no longer helping. Dr. Modiano recommended that I get a stem cell transplant, which I had never heard of, and in spite of road blocks made that happen for me. I want him to know I just had my yearly oncology check up and am doing very well- still cancer free. When I came to your office my son was 6 years old and in 1st grade. We just now enrolled him at UNLV--Thank you Dr. Modiano, your genius in your field has given me these very important years with my son and husband. I owe you my eternal gratitude and my life.
