Dr. Stephen Vara Joins Arizona Oncology’s West Valley and Biltmore Offices
PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 21, 2012) – Arizona Oncology has announced that Stephen John Vara, M.D. has joined Arizona Oncologyand is now providing comprehensive oncology and hematology care to patients at both its West Valley and Biltmore offices. Dr. Vara provides advanced care for cancer and blood disorders as part of the Arizona Oncology practice, which treats more cancer patients than any other cancer care provider in the state of Arizona. Arizona Oncology is affiliated with The US Oncology Network, giving patients access to cutting-edge treatments, state-of-the-art technology, the latest research and clinical trials.
Dr. Vara received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then spent a year working with patients with benign blood disorders such as sickle cell diseases and thalassemia, a type of hereditary anemia. He went on to complete a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Texas at Southwestern in Dallas.
