PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION:
He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in chemistry at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. He earned his medical degree from University of California-Davis, and completed his residency in internal medicine at University of California-San Diego, where he served as a hematology and oncology fellow until joining Arizona Oncology Associates. Dr. Di Simone also served as a senior research associate and postdoctoral research fellow at Scripps Research Institute; a graduate research assistant at California Institute of Technology; and an undergraduate research assistant at Johns Hopkins University.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Dr. Di Simone is board certified in medical oncology and board eligible in hematology.
HONORS:
Among his many honors and fellowships are undergraduate general honors and department honors from the Johns Hopkins University, NIH Predoctoral and Postdoctoral fellowships and receipt of the Edward M. Gold Award signifying University of California-Davis’ most outstanding student in medicine. Dr. Di Simone’s research has been published in Virology, Vaccines and BMC Microbiology.
